I love it when Independence Day gives us a three day weekend! We spent the whole weekend celebrating with family and friends.
Here I wrote about our actual Fourth of July, which landed on a Monday. The day before we spent the Sunday enjoying time with our family. We went to visit Grandma Sha Sha, who is currently residing in a retirement home. We barbecued out on the patio and invited her "table mate" to join us so she wouldn't be lonely without grandma there at dinner time. It was good to catch up with family and finally meet Grandma Joan's "friend" Loren.
Apparently the grilled chicken was good, because Nana wanted to kiss the cook. Upon closer examination, the kissing may not have had anything to do with the chicken {though it was good}...her plate was empty at the time.
After picnicing we went back to Nana and Papa's for a little jam session.
