My flight arrived late on Saturday night so we didn't get to bed until 3 a.m. Needless to say we slept in on Sunday. Then we tried to go to church but got lost along the way. So we enjoyed a nice breakfast together at Denny's and tried to stay dry {yes, it rained while we were there and the wind was quite strong}.
Our hotel had the perfect setup with a fridge and microwave. Before the kids got there, I used our food prep corner as a craft station {hey, when you're on vacation you're supposed to do what you love!}

I also went shopping for a new outfit to wear on my dinner date with Todd on Monday evening. We were invited to a business dinner at Walt Disney's Floridian Hotel. We were served a three course meal with desserts that were picture worthy. As we entered it felt like we had stepped into the 1950's with beautiful, timeless decor and a live band in the lobby area. Our table had a panoramic view with these gorgeous floor to ceiling windows, and it was so exciting to see the fireworks going off while we ate. Todd even stole a quick kiss {yes, at a business dinner}. It was cute because it is so uncharacteristic for him to do such a thing. I smiled all evening.
After Todd's conference on Tuesday we picked up pizza from Pizza Uno, Todd's long lost love which produces authentic Chicago style pizza. We ate in the parking lot of the Orlando, Florida, LDS Temple.
Anytime we go on vacation we always like to visit the temple, and if we can fit it in we also attend a session. Before we went to pick up the kids we were able to attend a session. We were the only people attending that evening who didn't speak Spanish, so they did the session in Spanish and we used a headset to interpret for us. It was a wonderful experience to see so many faithful LDS people serving the Lord in His temple. I am so grateful for temples and the wonderful blessing they are to my family. Not only do they seal us together for eternity, they bless us with strength and power as we strive to keep our commandments and serve Jesus Christ. Here are some after session pictures.
After our session I approached one of the temple workers to ask where the nearest church building was since we had one more Sunday in Florida and couldn't find it last time. We got to talking and she invited us to attend a special fireside for temple workers {they were each allowed to bring one guest} with Elder Neil L. Anderson as the main speaker. We were so touched that they would invite us! After attending church the following Sunday, Mom watched the kids so Todd and I could attend the fireside as one last "date" in Florida. It was a wonderfully uplifting evening accompanied by good food and new friends.
