Today we prepared for the new school year by "shopping around the house" for school supplies we already had on hand. Before we received our list of supplies I bought some of the things we typically need, so I brought the bag out to the table. Tate made the good suggestion of me literally hiding them around the house for them to find. Maybe next year. {Are you confused yet by the title of my post?}
We planned to go to the store to get everything on their supply list that they didn't find at home, but we received an invitation to the park with friends. So naturally we dropped everything {thankfully I wasn't holding Joseph} and had a picnic at the new Chambers Creek Park in University Place. The kids rode their bikes and scooters on the beautifully paved trails, and the older boys played frisbee, football, and soccer in the big field while we girls talked in the shade. Tiffany was prepared with a whole box of bandaids which came in handy for the many injuries sustained on the hill. Good thing those boys are tough!
Being organized for the school year would be great, but summer is fading fast and good friends are hard to find.
